Questions

Which Linux versions are supported?

The download is made for Ubuntu 24.04 and Linux Mint 22 (64-bit PCs). Other versions can run OpenPakon from the source code; see the technical guide.

Do I need to be an administrator to scan?

Only to install. After that, any user can use the scanner.

Can I share the scanner with other computers at home?

Yes, if you're comfortable with a bit of setup: OpenPakon can run on the computer the scanner is plugged into and be used from a web browser on another computer. The technical guide explains how.

Where do my scans go?

Into a folder called pakon in your home folder, one folder per roll. You can pick another folder in the app.
