Your pictures stay yours
OpenPakon never sends your photos anywhere. It only sends anything at all if you say yes.
The first time it opens, OpenPakon asks whether it may send anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. Nothing is sent unless you say yes. Each has its own switch, and you can change your mind any time on the Settings page.
What's sent, if you say yes
- Crash reports: what went wrong and where in the app, and for a failed scan, the last lines of the scanner's log.
- Usage statistics: which pages you open, how long scans and saving take, the film type, the number of frames, what you saved, and the scanner model.
What's never sent
- Your pictures
- File, folder or roll names
- Your scanner's serial number or factory settings
Where it goes
To the developer's own server, running the open-source Rybbit analytics. Not to an advertising company or any other third party.
OpenPakon also checks GitHub to see whether there's a newer version.
Check for yourself
OpenPakon is open source, so anyone can read exactly what it does. The code is on GitHub.
