Why switch?
- No old computer. TLX needs Windows XP. OpenPakon runs on what you have.
- Every frame checked before saving. See the whole strip and fix boxes in one place.
- Rolls stay organised. Each roll gets its own folder, with the film name and ISO in every picture.
- Free and open. No licence, and the code is public.
Questions
What is TLXClientDemo?
TLXClientDemo (usually just called TLX) is a small scanning program from Pakon, popular with film photographers because it's simpler than the full lab software, PSI. Both only run on old Windows.
TLX or PSI: which does OpenPakon replace?
Both. OpenPakon does the job of either: scan, check the frames and save.
Can I download TLX here?
No. TLX belongs to Kodak, so we don't share it. OpenPakon doesn't need it.
Can I use OpenPakon and TLX on the same Windows PC?
OpenPakon installs its own scanner driver in place of Kodak's, so plan on using OpenPakon from then on.
I get an error in TLX. Can you help?
We can't fix TLX, but OpenPakon may be the easier way out. If OpenPakon gives you trouble, see troubleshooting.
